How the click speed test works

The timer starts on your first click and runs for the length you picked. Your score is clicks divided by seconds, shown live while you click and fixed when time runs out. Longer tests are harder, because fatigue sets in after the first few seconds.

Click techniques

Normal clicking uses the finger tip and usually lands around 6–7 CPS. Jitter clicking tenses the arm to vibrate the finger, and butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on one button. Both are faster but tiring, and some games and servers treat very high CPS as suspicious.

Speed vs accuracy

For most competitive games, where you click matters more than how often. Pair this with the reaction time test and tune your aim with the eDPI calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS score?+

Most people click around 6–7 times per second with a normal click. 8–10 CPS is fast, and techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking can push well past 10.

What is CPS used for in games?+

Click speed matters in games with repeated attacks or block-breaking, such as Minecraft PvP, and in clicker-style games. In most shooters, accuracy and reaction time matter far more than raw CPS.

Does my mouse affect click speed?+

A little. Lighter switches with short travel and a mouse that fits your grip make fast clicking easier. A high polling rate does not change how fast your finger moves.
