What Is a Good Reaction Time for Gaming?
On a simple visual click test, most people score somewhere around 200–270 ms. Competitive players often average under 200 ms. But your number is always you plus your hardware: monitor, mouse and the device you test on.
Test yourself properly
Use the reaction time test and do at least five runs. Look at the average, not your best single run.
Why setup matters
A 60Hz monitor shows a new image every 16.7 ms; a 240Hz one every 4.2 ms. That alone can change your score. See the difference with the FPS calculator.
How to react faster
- Sleep and hydration genuinely help.
- Warm up before ranked games.
- Pre-aim common angles so you need less reaction to begin with.
- Remove input delay: high refresh rate, stable FPS, wired mouse.
