Valorant Crosshair Settings: A Guide to a Crosshair That Helps You Aim
Your crosshair is the one thing on screen you look at all game, so small settings change a lot. There's no single best crosshair, but there are good principles. Here's what each option does and how to pick yours.
What each setting does
- Colour — pick something that contrasts with every map. Cyan, yellow and green are popular because few backgrounds use them.
- Outline — helps the crosshair stand out on busy backgrounds, at the cost of looking slightly thicker.
- Centre dot — a tiny, precise point; good for tap shooting, can disappear in fights.
- Inner lines — length, thickness and offset decide how much of the target the crosshair covers.
- Movement and firing error — expands the crosshair as you move or shoot. Many players turn these off and learn the spray instead.
Small and static is the safe default
Most competitive players use a small, static crosshair: short inner lines, a small gap, no movement or firing error. It keeps your eye on the head line without hiding the enemy model.
How to test a crosshair
- 1Load the range and shoot at bots at long, mid and short range.
- 2Check it on the brightest and darkest map you play.
- 3Play at least three matches before deciding. Every new crosshair feels wrong for the first game.
