Gaming Café Equipment Checklist: Everything You Need Before Opening
Opening a gaming café means buying a lot of things at once, and forgetting one (a UPS, spare controllers, a decent router) can ruin your first week. Use this checklist to plan your budget and setup.
Stations
- Gaming PCs with a GPU that runs Valorant, CS2 and battle royales at high frame rates.
- Consoles — PS5 is the most requested; add Xbox if your area asks for it.
- Optional extras — VR headsets or a racing sim, once the core stations are busy. See should your café add VR or sim racing.
Displays and peripherals
- High-refresh monitors (144Hz or more) for PC stations; competitive players notice.
- Large TVs for consoles, with low input lag.
- Mechanical keyboards, mice with good sensors, and mouse pads.
- Headsets, plus spares; they're the first thing to break.
- Extra controllers and charging docks.
Network and power
- A business broadband line, ideally with a backup connection.
- Wired Ethernet to every PC and console.
- A UPS or inverter so a power cut doesn't end every session.
- Proper wiring and surge protection.
Comfort
- Comfortable chairs that survive long sessions.
- Good air conditioning; PCs add a lot of heat.
- Lighting that doesn't glare on screens.
Software and front desk
- A way to take bookings and payments online. HangOn Partner handles listings, bookings and payouts.
- QR check-in so you know every guest has paid.
- Snacks and drinks; they add revenue per visit.
